If you grew up in a city the sounds at night are very different compared to camp. Here are some of the sounds you might hear at Camp Big Canoe:

There is a Barred owl family that lives at the camp. You will often hear them at night and if you are lucky you will see them too! The phrase “Who cooks for you” is what their call sounds like. Younger owls have a call that is more of a screech:

The family of loons are already at Hart Lake. In our opinion this is one of the most beautiful sounds out there but it can be very eerie if you’ve never heard it before.
