For me, camp has always been about the connections and community. Ten years could have passed and I will run in to a friend from camp and it will be like we saw each other yesterday. It’s the type of friendship that involves love – love of Camp Big Canoe, love of nature, love of all of the people in the community. That’s what makes Camp Big Canoe so special too – it’s the most inclusive place I’ve ever been.

It’s hard to narrow down my favourite part of camp – campfire, outtrip, Banquet dinner, outtrip (did I mention outtrip already?), or maybe the spontaneous fun of the standard camp day with the energetic, awesome variety of people who come to camp.

I met (and married) my amazing husband at camp and we have started taking our family there too so that our daughters can experience some of the magic of Camp Big Canoe as well!

Hopefully we’ll see you there this summer singing some of our favourite camp songs, like Little Ducky, or as my one year old says, “Small ducky not cry.”
