Dear Friends
Let me tell you about
Camp Big Canoe’s welcoming environment!
Camp Big Canoe
is in Muskoka on its own private lake surrounded by the beauty of
wilderness. It is a place where Loons swim with campers, Blue Herons
nest and Beaver raise their young. Campers arrive and settle into
units of six in canvas tents. Counselors in the tent next door provide
ongoing supervision. All staff offer the guidance needed to care
for the social, emotional and spiritual needs of campers.
Camp Big Canoe is a community
where the experience is so positive, where self esteem grows and
campers leave with new found maturity and full of confidence. Camp
Big Canoe nurtures the leaders of tomorrow – today!
Campers, staff, and visitors
– virtually everyone who visit Camp Big Canoe experience something
so personal it is hard to describe. It becomes a place in and of
the heart! Whether it is the community of shared values, of common
purpose, or just a feeling - the Spirit of Camp Big Canoe becomes
a part of all of us. The Spirit is with you every time you walk
down a path, hug an old friend or welcome a new one. Its mystery
and wonder come from the fact that no one will ever succeed at confining
the Spirit to words.
I believe we set the
standard for Full Value. That is, we get the best from our Human
Recourses – the board, our staff and our many supporters,
and our Physical Resources – our site and equipment, providing
Value Today leading to Value Tomorrow.
I am committed to the
Spirit of Camp Big Camp, to you and to the opportunities our camp
offers to its campers, staff and visitors.
Please contact me if
you have any questions about camp or your child’s needs.
